Everyone makes mistakes—here’s how to spot and fix the most common ones:
Mistake 1: Forgetting to Breathe
- Fix: Focus on slow, deliberate inhales and exhales. You can even count them aloud!
Mistake 2: Letting Your Neck or Shoulders Do All the Work
- Fix: Keep shoulders away from ears. If your neck feels strained, drop your head for a quick rest and reset.
Mistake 3: Arching or Rounding the Lower Back
- Fix: Keep your pelvis in “neutral” or gently pressed toward the mat. Engage your deep abdominals for support.
Mistake 4: Using Momentum Instead of Muscles
- Fix: Move more slowly than you think you need to. Control every lift and lower.
Mistake 5: Comparing Yourself to Others
- Fix: Remember, Pilates is personal—focus on your journey, comfort, and progress.
